Well, the Summer Work Travel program is over for my friends and me. After 3 months of work in Pennsylvania, we have finally started traveling. This year (this is my second year on the program) we decided that we wanted to go to the West Coast.  Last summer I saw a lot of amazing places close to Pennsylvania on the East Coast like Washington D.C., New York City, Niagara Falls, Boston, Atlantic City, and Ocean City. However, this summer we organized a grander trip.

My friends and I booked a flight to Las Vegas and from there we rented a car. It was a group of six people crammed into an American car experiencing our American adventures! Our first two days were spent in Las Vegas. It was great fun for us, because it is an unusual place. I have never seen a place like this before. Then, after our two days in Las Vegas, we went to the Grand Canyon. It has been my dream to visit this natural wonder. Nearly five million people travel to see the Grand Canyon each year. For me it was magnificent and undoubtedly the most beautiful place I visited on the West Coast.

After our stop at the Grand Canyon, we went to Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Hollywood in California. These places were a lot of fun for us, because we were able to visit all the places we recognized from television. For example, we visited the Greystone Mansion. In recent years, a lot of movies have been filmed there, such as “X-Men: First Class,” “The Social Network,” and “Spider Man.” At the end of our trip we stayed in San Diego. This was a beautiful place with amazing beaches and the Pacific Ocean where we decided to relax.

I think that the Summer Work Travel it is the best chance for international students to gain experience in the United States. I was able to earn enough money to see wonderful places and discover new cultures. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone, because it was an unforgettable experience for me.
