Compassion is a universal language: Ambassador Scholar supports family after loss
It was beautiful to witness their kindness. I have never experienced anything like that. I will remember this event forever because of the compassion and kindness I saw.

During my first month in the United States, I learned and discovered many new things, but the experience that I will remember for a long time was the most unexpected. The most memorable part of my Summer Work Travel experience is a story about a little girl named Ariana.
Everyone knew and adored Ariana, the daughter of my co-worker, and we saw her almost every day. Unexpectedly, she passed away one week before her second birthday. It was a complete shock to everyone. We wanted to honor her life so we decided to arrange a fundraising event called “Walk for Ariana” to support her family.
At first, I did not fully understand what the Walk for Ariana meant, but I decided to go to support the family. Everyone wore a pink shirt because that was her favorite color. Many people attended, some people were our staff members, friends of the family, and even a lot of vacationers who did not even know the family, which surprised me. At the beginning of the event, all of us held hands and made a circle and prayed for little Ariana. Afterward, everyone participated in a walk and expressed compassion to the family. It was beautiful to witness their kindness. I have never experienced anything like that. I will remember this event forever because of the compassion and kindness I saw.
