Jesse Ruvalcaba is an employer from a seasonal community with CCI Greenheart’s Work and Travel program.  Follow Jesse as he continued his Journey of an Employer. In this post he explains how his participants became acclimated to the the United States during Summer 2014.

We are so happy to have the participants as part of our team.  Not only are they enthusiastic , friendly and hard-working, but they are also being very productive as we continue to work through our very busy summer season.

One of the things that our property really appreciates about the participants is the positive approach they take when other team members may need a little help.   They have also been very good listeners during their training period. There are a lot of details to learn, but they have done a great job.

Our two (2) new participants really represent what we have come to expect from the program…hard working participants with a positive attitude. This program continues to be a win-win for all involved. Actually, this program at times is an advantage over hiring domestic individuals, since the participants are very focused and typically show a lot of initiative throughout their stay. It’s really been a terrific resource for us.

As has been the case in the past, we look forward to helping the participants assimilate to the American culture by suggesting they visit the local attractions available in Southern California (ex. Los Angeles, San Diego, San  Francisco, etc.) and participate in property events (ex. birthday celebrations, BBQ’s and holiday events).  We also look forward to learning more about their culture (especially the food). Hopefully, they will agree to cook us a few Chinese dishes before they leave!
