Free time in the USA: Creating Memories
By: Sushania Pryce, Work and Travel Ambassador Scholar
My favorite part about my Summer Work Travel experience is enjoying my free time when I’m not working. This includes traveling and volunteering. I look forward to going to new and exciting places and meeting new and interesting people. I take advantage of every opportunity that may present itself to enjoy my time in the U.S.A.
I went to Florida and had an amazing time visiting my family and spending time with my best friend. I went to the movies, to the park and then I did some shopping! In Maine I often go out with my friends to eat and have a great time. I really like to go sightseeing and kayaking on the Kennebunk River in my host community.
This summer I also visited New Hampshire where I took advantage of their tax free shopping. Then I passed through Boston and visited Central Park in New York City. This is only a portion of what I’ve done so far. I am hoping to do more travelling towards the end of the summer.
The most memorable thing of all my adventures is of course volunteering in my free time. I enjoy volunteering and I look forward to it every week. I’ve had a lot of fun volunteering and I was able to meet some wonderful people.
I am so happy to have had the opportunity to come to the U.S. and experience a new culture, meet new people and visit so many beautiful places. Thanks to CCI Greenheart for this incredible opportunity. My Work and Travel experience would not have been the same if I weren’t a Greenheart Club member.
