On November 19th, our longstanding partner, Study, UA hosted us for another wonderful Job Fair in Kiev, Ukraine! My colleague, Wioletta, and I traveled with four host organizations to meet and interview nearly 300 participants. We had the special opportunity to learn why they chose to apply for the J-1 Summer Work Travel program, what their career goals are, and what they hope to gain from this experience. We were very grateful to meet with each and every participant, especially those that traveled up to 12 hours for this event. Some past participants also joined our presentation and gave advice to all of the first-timers in attendance. We are so excited for all of the participants that were offered a position that day—we can’t wait to see you all here in the United States.

The next day, CCI Greenheart and the host organizations joined Study UA in a master class where we made crafts to donate to children in need. We designed traditional straw horses and straw ornaments decorated with ribbons. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more photos!

Following our volunteer activity, the Study UA team took us shopping on Andriivsky uzviz and Peizazhna Alley. We also spent some quality time in the Roshen chocolate store, where we bought bags and bags of chocolate to share with our colleagues and friends in Chicago.  Needless to say, our team was very happy when we got back because of all the goodies we had to share with them!

On our last night, we had the opportunity to watch the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine perform. Words cannot express how appreciative we were in the presence of such great talent. Their performance was truly moving.

We cannot thank Study UA enough for their hospitality and can’t wait to see them again next year!
