On August 8, Greenhearts gathered at Ball Park Road in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. As a stop on the summer 2013 Going Greenheart Tour, participants, employers, area members and CCI Greenheart staff members got their hands dirty to help the local community.

The Greenheart Project at Ball Park Road included cleaning brush and picking up litter along the park. For many participants and even community members, this project was not only service based, it was a learning experience as well. Everyone was properly taught how to use an ax and even learned how to identify Golden Rod and Lupine plants. These plants grow in abundance in Maine, specifically the Old Orchard Beach area.

In attendance at the Greenheart Project were two Ambassador ScholarsOrville Tomlinson and Sushania Pryce. Sushania drove up from Kennebunkport with two friends to help out at the project, where her and Orville shared their accomplishments as all-stars of the Greenheart Club.

With the beautiful flowers and the nice cool breeze, it was a wonderful day in New England. And it was all topped off with a quintessential New England lunch and wonderful chats.

Thank you to Pierre Bouthiller for organizing this event and to all that attended.

Go Greenheart!
