Travelling for the first time on the Work and Travel program, Dan Hou (known as Felicity) traveled from China to work for an American employer. Read about her American adventures in the United States!
My friends and I decided to go to Pittsburg University. It was very cool. This church is in the university. Students and patrons can have wedding ceremonies in this church. It was the most beautiful church I have ever seen. I hope one day that my wedding ceremony will be held in this church. It is a sacred place.
Next stop on my trip around America – Niagara Falls! It’s amazing! It took six hours to drive there, but I was so excited to arrive that I never became tired. My friends and I took a lot of pictures on the boat. The waterfalls made it feel like it was raining, but we still were able to use our phones and cameras. We were so happy to record the gorgeous scenery. I hope that I will get to there again one day.
After our tour of Niagara, my friends and I went to Harvard University. As a student, it has been a dream to study at Harvard University. When I walked onto the campus, I immediately felt the American study atmosphere. We heard that if a person touches the left foot of this statue, then this person will study at Harvard one day. I hope this means that one day I can get a master’s degree at Harvard!
Next on my trip, my friends and I went New York City, where I bought a lot of post cards. I like Time Square, even though it’s crowded. I like The Empire State Building, even though it’s crowded. I like Wall Street, even though it’s crowded. I like everything in New York, even though it’s crowded. I love New York! And isn’t this picture fun? I love this picture. In China, everyone calls the State of Liberty, “Sexy woman.”
The last stop (so far) was Washington D.C. My American friend drove my friends and me to the capital. So that day we went to the Lincoln Memorial, White House and so many museums. I love Washington so much, the people are very friendly and we can see it’s a really nice city. After our museum tour we went to a Korean Church. They are very nice, but we cannot understand them completely. But it was a really a nice trip in Washington D.C.!
