Keeping a Child Alive
I am truly happy that I was able to help my charity, with the help of CCI Greenheart, keep a child alive. - Sushania Pryce

What happens when you pair up an alumnus of our cultural exchange program with The Greenheart Club? Life-changing experiences, inspirational stories, and saving lives to name a few things! Take a look at what our recent alumni grant winner, Sushania Pryce, accomplished when she was awarded a grant to carry out a service project in her home country, Jamaica.
Malique is part of Angels of Love Jamaica, a non-profit organization that aims to help critically ill youth whose caregivers cannot afford the medical treatments they need to survive. In May 2015, he was diagnosed with a condition in which his right kidney was not functioning properly, making it difficult to carry out daily life. After learning about Malique’s case, Angels of Love committed to paying half the cost of the expensive surgery that was needed to save his kidney. When Sushania, a member of Angels of Love for over four years now and an alumnus of Greenheart’s cultural exchange program, heard about nine-year-old Malique’s life-threatening condition, she knew she had to help.
“It was without a doubt in my mind that when I heard about Angel Malique’s condition that I had decided to donate my Greenheart grant money to my charity, Angels of Love Jamaica, to go towards his surgery.”
On December 29, 2015, Malique entered surgery with high spirits. Thankfully, he came out of it successful with no complications to follow. He spent a total of 10 days in the hospital and was able to go back to school exactly one month later.
We are so proud of you, Sushania!
