Jesse Ruvalcaba is an employer from a seasonal community with CCI Greenheart’s Work and Travel program.  Follow Jesse as he prepares for his trip to China to interview international participants! Read his post as he explains why hiring international participants is beneficial to everyone involved.

I’m getting ready to take a wonderful trip to China to meet and hire some participants and I could not be more excited!   It’s a great opportunity to not only spend some time in a wonderful country (I’ve never really traveled abroad), but also to identify some great participants for our summer program.

I’m very appreciative of CCI Greenheart for providing me with this great chance to see the world and make a difference in the lives of students. The way I see it, it’s really a win/win for everyone for the following reasons:

  1. We get to affect the lives of students by allowing them the opportunity to travel and experience a new and exciting culture … Welcome to America!  It also allows our team members the chance to learn about another culture simply by working with the participants.  Lastly, in the past, I’ve seen very special bonds and friendships develop between the participants and our team members, and it’s really something to be appreciated.
  1. Allows members of the Good Nite Inn Management team (such as me) to visit a place I might not have thought about visiting, or otherwise had the opportunity to see.
  1. Helps improve relations between all cultures and countries by demonstrating that at the end of the day, we’re not all that different from one another, and there are things to be appreciated about all people and cultures.

With this being said, I cannot wait to begin preparing for my trip and the up-coming interviews with participants.   My staff is also very excited, and quite frankly, we are always happy to see a few fresh faces that are there to help us meet the needs of our guests.

I’m looking forward to a great trip and an even better summer with our new additions!
