I had a great experience in Chinese teaching to Americans and a Thai friend in USA. My American student is Qiao Qiao, his mother used to study in China and gave him a Chinese name -QiaoQiao,which means bridge. Qiao Qiao is very a smart and cute boy, he loves China and its culture.

Restaurants usually make for nice tutoring classrooms. One day in May,which was my day off, his family invited me to a dinner in a restaurant in Bismarck. While we were having dinner, I taught Qiao Qiao Chinese. I pointed out bread on the table meanwhile, I read mianbao in Chinese, which means bread. Then Qiao Qiao read after me. In this fashion Qiao Qiao learned some new Chinese words in just a few minutes. His mother is only good at spoken Chinese and not so much in writing. Therefore I taught her how to write qiao qiao in Chinese. She learned very fast.

I had an awesome experience in teaching my Thai friend Chinese too. In Bismarck North Dakota where I lived there were many Thai students who were working there. I met a nice girl who was interested in Chinese. I taught her how to write , speak, and read Chinese. At first, she thought it was hard to write Chinese as Chinese is very complicated. Then I chose some interesting words to her,the first one was 口 . I let her guess what it meant. After that I told her it means mouth is read Kou. This word is a mouth of people. She was very excited about the meaning. The second word was 人(which means people). I used the same way of teaching, guessing meaning first ,then telling the meaning ,and after that teaching her how to read and write the word. She found that Chinese is a very interesting language. I am very happy that I can teach Chinese to the people from all over the world.
