Thanksoween? Yes, it is a new tradition in the Dells!

The J-1 Consortium hosted another great event for J-1 participants in Wisconsin Dells this year: Thanksoween. CCI Greenheart had so much fun attending this event, which gave students from around the world the chance to experience two holidays widely celebrated in the United States.
While Halloween parties and dress-up traditions have begun to spread around the world, Thanksgiving hasn’t been commercialized quite yet. Participants had the opportunity to discuss both holidays with a church group from Missouri who drove up to serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to the 250+ area students over the span of two nights.
Other Thanksoween activities included free entrance to a haunted house, a donut-on-a-string eating contest, apple bobbing, and a mummy wrapping contest. J-1 Consortium members provided costumes to participants the first night, and by the second night they came donning their own face paint and garb. Great practice for festivities approaching at the end of this month!
