What is an International Job Fair?
Job fairs are the best way to hire international participants because they connect us to our American counterparts and promote cultural exchange all in one room.

One of the most important aspects of the Summer Work Travel program in the United States is the International Job Fair. Each year we recognize how vital this event is and we put forth all of our time and effort into preparing an unforgettable experience for all attendees, including the sending agency, host organizations, Greenheart, and most importantly, our participants.
At the end of the job fair, we always take feedback from the host organizations so we can improve on this event and other hiring events that we do. That being said, what really makes for a good hiring event is having well prepared, educated, and informed participants. By giving participants a lot of time, asking them to read about the program, teaching them the details, and ensuring participants are making connections through social media, the results of the job fair have been great!
Our last job fair was the biggest job fair since 2009! This has put a lot more responsibility on our shoulders to keep up the good work. We send the participants emails to make sure that everything is under control and running smoothly. We also invite some second-time participants to connect with our new participants in an effort to ease any nerves they may be feeling about going abroad. Additionally, we invite previous participants to the job fair itself, as they are a great help to both the participants and host organizations during the interview process.
To us at StationCom, the day of the job fair day is exciting because all of our hard work that season will finally be paid off. It makes our day when well-informed participants have successful interviews!
There are many benefits of job fair events and we believe that these fairs should be continued annually. Job fairs are the best way to hire international participants because they connect us to our American counterparts and promote cultural exchange all in one room. Our participant’s gratitude is so rewarding. When they promise to visit us again or they send us a Facebook note expressing thanks, we at StationCom are very happy!
