By Elizabeth Brennan, Business Development Specialist and Augusto Cabral Gomez, CCI Work & Travel Participant

This past August I traveled to South America on CCI’s Winter Job Fair. I had the pleasure of meeting a very enthusiastic and motivated student by the name of Augusto Cabral Gomez and we’ve been able to stay in touch thanks to Facebook. Many CCI Work & Travel participants I met are now preparing to come to the United States for the start of their program. I recently checked in with Augusto and here’s what he had to say:

Hi CCI group, My name is Augusto Cabral Gomez I’m from Argentina I’m 22 years old and I’ll be part of a Work and Travel Program on this season. Im so so excited to go to Park City in Utah this winter. I mean, this kind of trip are awesome, I can’t stand to meet people, know places, have fun and work for sure!

We are 10 guys from Corrientes. Our city is in the northeast of Argentina. We met one month ago when we knew we go together so we begin to have dinners and meeting to know each other.

To be ready for this trip we look information about Park City and around there, about the resort of course. It’s an amazing place so bigger !!! We also are thinking about what kind of food we will bring, so we can show our food and culture. The most important stuff are Dulce de Leche, Alfajores and Yerba to drink Mate, something like tea.

Personally I snowboard so I special look for ski center when I can do that, but I also wanna try skis this season, so maybe I’ll spend more time trying skis. My job going to be cook at a ski resort, I cant stand to start, I love to cook so this’s perfect to me! I hope I can do a good work, I’m a hardworker guy so I think I will!

Me and my guys know, this trip going to be gorgeous. We will have adventures, friendships, and we going to learn a lot about the life, about the people, about the work, about growing up!”

In addition to trying new things and experiencing all that Park City has to offer, Augusto also plans to participate in CCI’s Greenheart Project this winter along with his employer and local nonprofit, Recycle Utah. Check out the video from last year’s event on YouTube. Welcome Augusto, we are glad to have you on CCI’s program!
