Work and Travel participant takes spontaneous helicopter flight
Now I cannot wait to take a helicopter flight in other places throughout the world. For now, I am going to take the opportunity to enjoy my time left in the United States!

My name is Zora and I am a 23 year-old participant from Slovakia! This is my first time in the United States and I am living in a very small town in North Carolina. On my first day in the United States, I arrived in Atlanta with a friend. We spent some time in downtown Atlanta where we saw many skyscrapers and walked through Olympic Park. I even learned all about a 1996 Olympic winner who is from my town in Slovakia!
My host community is located in the Great Smoky Mountains and we are surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains! One day, I saw the landscape from a bird’s eye view because I took a flight on a helicopter. I made the spontaneous decision to take the flight because I had free time and it sounded like a lot of fun! This was a great decision – it was in the evening so I could see the sunset over the mountains!
I was a bit nervous before the flight, not because of the height, but because it was something new and exciting. In the end, it was a wonderful experience! Now, I cannot wait to take a helicopter flight in other places throughout the world. For now, I am going to take the opportunity to enjoy my time left in the United States!
